When managing busy schedules, work, family and other commitments, finding the motivation to attend martial arts classes can sometimes be a challenge. Yet, for many KB members, it is precisely when life feels most overwhelming that training becomes essential.
KB member Ruth offers her thoughts: “It’s always worth training even when you’re tired, or have had a bad day, or just don’t really feel like it – because you always leave class feeling amazing!”
Jess echoes Ruth’s sentiment, emphasising the transformative power of martial arts: “People who don’t do martial arts often think it’s the ‘hitting stuff’ that gives the stress relief, but I’ve found it’s much more to do with the head space you enter when you train. You enter the ‘flow’ state and stop worrying about the outside world. It’s very mentally refreshing.”
Kim agrees, adding that martial arts training is like medicine for the mind and body: “The KB machine will take care of you. It’s a secret sauce that combines the positive energy in the dojo with great instruction, a challenging lesson plan, physical and mental focus and encouragement from your training peers. It’s exactly what you need after a busy day.”
Even after busy or difficult days, many members find themselves craving the feeling of class again. Khalida sums it up perfectly: “I need an endorphin high – it’s been a rough few days, so here for all the endorphins, please!”
Kim also shares her experience of returning to martial arts training after a hiatus, expressing gratitude for the welcoming atmosphere and the sense of accomplishment she feels after each class. “It felt so good to be back – I left class feeling accomplished and refreshed.”
Phoebe and Nick add their comments about the supportive community fostered at KB Fitness.
“KB is always here when you come back – it feels like coming home,” said Phoebe.
“Everyone is friendly and positive – it makes martial arts training fun and motivating,” Nick added.
Kelly FN, Neil and Timm reflect on the common experience of feeling self-conscious upon returning to training after a break: “That first class back can feel awkward, but soon you remember why you love training here,” said Kelly.
“Any stress just lifts off your shoulders once you’re training again,” said Neil. Timm agreed: “I was nervous at first, but it all comes back quickly – you wonder why you didn’t come back sooner!”
No matter how busy or stressful life gets, KB Fitness helps members leave the dojo feeling energised, clear-headed, and ready to face the day ahead. It’s not just training — it’s a way to recharge, refocus, and rediscover your own strength.
