As a new year begins, it’s common for people to set goals and make ‘new year’s resolutions’. Many people enjoy having objectives in mind, and a way to keep themselves accountable when working towards what they want.

KB Fitness members set goals and work hard to achieve them on a regular basis all year round, but as KB starts a new year of London martial arts classes on Monday 9th January, KB members have been deliberating and setting new goals for 2023, too.

Setting goals is an important part of training in the martial arts, as it is a good way to measure progress. Whether it is to attend classes more regularly, get faster, improve coordination, start sparring, start grading, increase stamina… all members are encouraged to think about what they want to accomplish.

Big or small, what matters is the impact that reaching the goal will have on the person. What is required of KB members to achieve their goals in the

martial arts? Commitment, consistency, discipline, positivity, and perseverance all play a part and ensure that the journey is a rewarding one.

Tom, one of KB Fitness’ long-standing members, has set an admirable goal for this year. He said: “My daughter has recently started training kickboxing at KB, so this year, along with focusing on improving my techniques and training regularly, I will focus on training with her so she can achieve her Blue Belt in KB Kickboxing.”

Laura, who has been training at KB for one month, said: “My goal is to improve the height of my kicks, and my balance when kicking.”

Gabi, another new student, shared: “I would like to start sparring and grade for Blue Belt in KB Kickboxing in June.”

Sonya, who has achieved Black Belt standard in KB Kickboxing and Black Sash standard in KB Kung Fu, shared her goals too: “I want to carry on enjoying training, and work on sharpening up my techniques.”

These are just a few examples of how KB members are motivated to hit the ground running in the year of 2023 and invest in their fitness and martial arts journeys. As you can see, beginners and seasoned students alike are encouraged to set and work on their martial arts goals.

They will not be alone, of course; Chief Instructor Kelly KB and her team will be there to guide and advise KB members every step of the way, and celebrate their victories with them, too.

Some goals are longer term than others, but with positivity and dedication there is no reason why KB members shouldn’t aim and reach for the stars in 2023.

What do you want to achieve in 2023? Fitness? Become more active? Learn something new? KB Fitness is the right place to achieve all of those things and much more. If you found this article by searching for ‘London kickboxing classes near me’, why not follow your original instincts and book your first kickboxing class?
