At KB Fitness, kicking is more than just a powerful technique; it’s a favourite aspect of martial arts training for many members. Whether it’s mastering the basics or perfecting more advanced kicks, there’s no shortage of enthusiasm for kicking at KB Kickboxing classes.
Chief Instructor Kelly (KB) regularly shares tutorials to help members improve their martial arts techniques, offering personal guidance to ensure everyone refines their skills. After a kick tutorial was shared recently, the feedback from members was overwhelmingly positive.
Jess, KB Instructor and KB Member, said: “My favourite kick has always been the roundhouse. The aerial versions in this week’s lesson plan are so fun! I’m also partial to crescent kicks because I found them difficult for a long time, so whenever I do one, I’m reminded that if we work at things, we can do what once seemed impossible.”
Kelly FN chimed in, reflecting on the message of perseverance in martial arts training at KB: “I love what Jess said about being reminded that we can achieve the impossible if we work at things. That’s very true. At KB, we’re constantly reminded not to give up. Today, I’ll say my favourite is the diagonal hook kick because it’s so powerful and graceful at the same time.”
Ryan and Phoebe enjoy the flashier moves. Ryan shared, “I like axe kicks – they look very flashy. Thanks for the tutorial,” while Phoebe added, “One of my favourites has to be a nice step side kick! Very flash!”
Alice shared hers with an added sound effect: “My favourites are side kicks and step roundhouse kicks, swooooosh!”
Even Senior Instructor Dee joined in, sharing her personal favourite: “Side kicks for me!”
Jenny and Kim were quick to express their love for kicks too. Jenny shared, “Kicking is one of the best bits of martial arts training. My favourite is the diagonal hook kick,” while Kim agreed with Phoebe, saying, “I’m with Phoebe on the step side kick.”
